Our Application Process
Your direct response merchant account application will be processed as soon as we’ve received all the necessary paperwork. Your industry is classified as “high-risk”, as you are undoubtedly well aware, which means that we have to comply with certain requirements, which traditional processors don’t have to bother with. Still, typically we get it all done within one to two weeks. To initiate the application process, we will need you to provide the following paperwork:
- UniBul’s application form. You can download it here. Please fill it out completely and provide as much detail as you can, then sign and initial as indicated and email the form back to us, along with all other documents listed below.
- Your Articles of Incorporation or an equivalent document.
- A copy of the business owner’s passport or another valid national ID document.
- A copy of your business license.
- A voided business check for the bank account in which we will be depositing your money. Alternatively, you can send us a bank letter, but if you do that, make sure it is signed by a bank representative.
- Your six most recent monthly processing statements with your current or latest processor.
- Your three most recent monthly bank statements.
- A utility bill, with your address, which should be no older than 30 days of the date on which the application is signed.
It is likely that we will need some other documentation or information later on during the application process. This is standard procedure, so you shouldn’t be alarmed, but be prepared to follow up promptly on our requests, which will help us go through the process as quickly as possible. We want to get your direct response merchant account up and running just as quickly as possible and with your help we will do just that!
Considerations for Merchants on the TMF / MATCH List
It is very important that, if your latest merchant account was terminated, you let us know before we initiate the application process. We will also need to know the reason for the termination. Furthermore, if your business was placed on the TMF / MATCH list, we will need to know that as well.
Merchants are often reluctant to share such information, because they fear that doing so would make it very difficult for them to get a merchant account. Well, many businesses have undoubtedly had difficult time dealing with a TMF placement. Yet, at UniBul we specialize in working with merchants on the TMF! However, as the application process and account set-up for such an applicant are different from the typical one, we have to know how to proceed. And in any case, later on while we are reviewing your application, the TMF thing will pop up anyway, so there is no hiding it. But having this information in advance will save us both precious time and will send us in the right direction. So, if you were placed on the TMF, don’t hesitate, but contact us now and let’s get started!
Choosing the Right Payment Processor
There are many reasons why processors might not be willing or able to work with higher-risk businesses, even when they are very well qualified and this is simply a fact that is not going to change anytime soon. But there are also processors, which operate exclusively in the high-risk range of the payment spectrum and they are always looking for new business to take on board. They will be more careful when examining your application paperwork and will need your help to a much greater degree than their far more numerous low-risk equivalents. However, by working with them and helping them along the way, you will ultimately be helping yourself. And at UniBul we will be happy to work with you and set up your direct response merchant account!
