Auction Merchant Account
Finding a solid and reasonably priced auction merchant account can be a frustrating experience. Mainstream payment processors will not even touch your application, because businesses in your industry have in the past had problems keeping customer complaints and chargebacks under control. In essence, you are guilty by association: many other businesses in your industry have caused trouble before, so you will be causing trouble as well.
Well, at UniBul we see things differently. We believe that every business deserves consideration and should be judged on its own merits, whatever the type of industry it may happen to operate in. Moreover, we specialize solely in working with merchants categorized as “high-risk” — we leave the low-risk types to the mainstream processors. That focus has enabled us to build a reliable credit card processing solution for auction websites, both U.S.-based and international ones, which just works. Get in touch now and let us show you what we can do for you.
Before we initiate the application review, we will explain exactly what we can do for you and on what terms. If there are multiple set-ups available, we will break each of them down for you and let you decide. Once we get going, your application will be processed swiftly and then the set-up will be fast and straightforward. Typically, we can get you up and running within one to two weeks.
UniBul’s Application Process
In order to begin the application process, we will need the following documentation:
- Application form. You can get the form here. Please fill it out completely, sign and initial as indicated and send it back to us, along with everything else listed below.
- Six latest processing statements.
- Certificate of Incorporation or an equivalent document.
- Copy of the business owner’s passport or another picture ID.
- Copy of the business operating license, if applicable.
- Voided check, if available; otherwise, you can substitute with a bank letter.
- Three latest business bank statements.
- Utility bill — no older than 30 days of the application date.
It is quite likely that, once we get the application review started, we may need some other documentation and information. If that is the case, please be ready to follow up on our requests and help us go through the process as quickly and smoothly as possible.
Credit Cards, Settlement Currencies and Payout Schedules
Our extensive network of acquiring banks, spread out all over the world, allows us to support acceptance of all major credit cards, as well as many smaller ones, as seen below. Other payment options may also be available, depending on your requirements and set-up:
The settlement of your transactions can be in any of the major currencies (seen below) or in some other currency. Once again, the selection will be based on your particular requirements and account set-up:
We will determine your payout schedule during the underwriting review, but our auction merchant accounts usually get funded on a weekly basis, with one week in arrears.
TMF / MATCH Considerations
If your latest processor placed your business on the TMF / MATCH list, you should ask for an explanation in writing. Actually, if your merchant account is terminated for whatever reason, you should always ask whether your business or you personally were placed on the TMF / MATCH. We will need to know this before we start working on your application, as the set-up for TMF-ed merchants on our end is different from normal. Also, be advised that not telling us about the MATCH listing will not make it disappear and could actually do harm, as such things inevitably pop up during the underwriting review.
It is probable that the application process will take a bit longer than it would have been the case with a non-MATCH set-up and the reason is that Visa and MasterCard have instituted special rules which regulate TMF merchant accounts and will penalize processors who don’t follow them. So we may ask you to provide some additional piece of documentation or answer another question or two, but apart from that, from your point of view the process will look much the same.
Once your auction merchant account is approved and set up, you can start accepting credit cards once again, much as you did before the MATCH placement. You would need to stay on your guard, though, and ensure you are using your new account in full compliance with the terms and conditions of your contract. Your processing activity will be closely monitored to make sure that everything is the way it should be. Just keep it all well organized and you’ll be fine.
Why UniBul?
There may be many reasons why most processors may not be either willing or able to work with high-risk merchants, even with the well-qualified among them — businesses that have a proven track record of processing card payments in a professional and responsible manner. That is just the way things are in our industry.
However, there are also processors which have specialized in servicing exclusively high-risk merchants and they are always actively looking for new businesses to take on board. These processors may ask for a bit more paperwork and will probably need your help during the application process to a somewhat greater degree than you are used to. But they are the ones who can get the job done and at UniBul we are more than willing and able and just can’t wait to set up your auction merchant account!
Let’s Started Started!
To get the process started, you can download our auction merchant account application form from above, fill it out and send back to us, along with the other paperwork that we need. Alternatively, and most of you find this to be the better way to go about it, you can complete the very short form below, give us some off-the-top-of-your-head details about your business, and we will get back to you within hours and tell you what we can do for you.
